2025-26 AY Lecturer Pool - Communication Sciences and Disorders
Overview: This pool is for part-time lecturer positions in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Sacramento State. Appointments are typically for one semester and may be renewed based on department needs, enrollment, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Provide classroom instruction for BS and MS programs (Didactic Instructors) with subject areas including but not limited to: Accent modification, Anatomy and Physiology of the Speech Mechanism, AAC, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Child Language, Communication Disorders, Counseling, Curriculum, Degenerative Disorders, Developmental Disorders and syndromes, Dysphagia, Fluency, Language and Literacy Development, Language disorders, Medical Speech Pathology, Motor Speech Disorders, Neurogenic Language Disorders, Neurological Disorders, Phonetic Sciences, Phonological Disorders, Research Methods, Speech Sound Development and Disorders, and Voice.
- For the MS Program- Clinical Instructor: supervise MS students providing clinical services in the on-campus Language, Speech, and Hearing Center and instruct in corresponding clinical areas (subject needs may vary).
- Course preparation, instruction, grading, office hours, and other duties as assigned by the Department Chair under the direction of the College Dean.
- Schedule and modality of courses are determined by the department as enrollment and funding dictate.
Qualifications
Communication Sciences and Disorders- Didactic InstructorsRequired:
- Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field.
- Two years of professional experience in the specialty area (additional years may be required for some courses).
- Experience teaching undergraduate or graduate coursework.
Required:
- Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field.
- 9 months experience post ASHA certification.
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CCC-SLP).
- Current California License in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology.
- 2 hours of professional development in supervision after receiving the CCC-SLP.
