Job Description

This Content Developer plays a key role in designing and delivering impactful learning solutions through Southwest University, with a specialized focus on Ground Operations and Customer Accessibility learning development. Using expertise in development tools, visual communication, and emerging learning technologies, this role creates engaging, accurate, and scalable training content tailored to diverse audiences. By collaborating closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders, the Content Developer ensures materials reflect Southwest’s standards and culture while driving measurable improvements in performance. With a focus on quality, innovation, and timely execution, this role helps foster a learning environment that supports operational excellence and a world-class Customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develops effective and engaging learning content using industry-leading development tools.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining all learning material for a specific Customer, including online learning, classroom curriculum, job aids, simulations, graphics and performance support tools.
  • Work closely with Subject Matter Experts to gather project requirements and ensure content accuracy.
  • Plan and estimate project timelines prior to starting work.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with internal and external Southwest University Customers to understand audience needs and preferences.
  • Balance multiple projects to scope work, meet milestones and target timelines.
  • Provide support and foster collaboration among team members for seamless project execution.
  • Develop in an agile environment and stay adaptable to change.
  • Conduct quality assurance and testing of the learning content, including accuracy, functionality, and visual appeal; gather stakeholder feedback for improvements.
  • Design assessments and evaluation methods to measure effectiveness of learning experiences.
  • Create storyboards, prototypes, and mockups to visualize the Learning Experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of e-Learning authoring tools, such as Articulate 360, RISE, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia and other Adobe tools for authoring Instructor and Learner guides.
  • Understanding of efficient development practices and sustainable content creation.
  • Time management and organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with Subject Matter Experts, Project Managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to write and edit clear, concise and engaging content.
  • Ability to understand requirements quickly, participate in discussions, and communicate project plans clearly.
  • Ability to take direction and leverage constructive feedback to drive successful outcomes.
  • Ability to host meetings, present content, and address questions professionally and effectively.

Education

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED

Experience

  • Intermediate level experience with broad knowledge in: Learning and development practices; Writing and editing content for digital and/or print.

Physical Abilities

  • Ability to perform duties from a desk/office area for extended periods.
  • Ability to communicate in English to meet job demands.
  • Ability to use a computer and productivity tools with speed and accuracy.

Other Qualifications

  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company guidelines.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards.

Pay & Benefits

  • Competitive market salary from $71,450 - $79,400 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Bonus opportunities may be available at the discretion of the company.
