Librarian – Youth Services

Full Time - 40 hours per week

Salary: $26.50 per hour

Position Description: The Fox River Valley Public Library District is seeking a dynamic, community-driven librarian who is passionate about working with children aged 0-12 and their caregivers to join the Youth Services team.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate material collections for assigned areas
• Provide reference and reader’s advisory services for patrons of all ages
• Plan and present engaging activities, programs and events
• Build meaningful community connections through outreach

Requirements and skills

• Friendly and compassionate customer service
• A good working knowledge of books, movies and popular culture for youth
• Knowledgeable about child development and age-appropriate programming
• Prior experience working with children
• Collection management experience preferred

Educational requirement

MLIS from an ALA accredited school
