Media Relations Manager Job at Texas A&M University in College Station

* Create, develop and implement a strategic media relations plan to help raise the national profile of Mays Business School* Monitor media trends and track coverage to assess the impact and effectiveness of media relations efforts* Coordinate with Texas A&M University’s media relations team on dissemination of press releases, coordination of media requests, and creation of expert videos* Identify sponsorship opportunities with national media outlets and industry publications* Manage media inquiries in a timely manner* Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, reporters, and media outlets relevant to business education* Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field* Five years of related experience including two years of related supervisory experience.* Experience with business or academic media outlets* Demonstrated ability to translate complex academic concepts into compelling stories* Strong written and verbal communication skills.* Advanced knowledge of public relations strategies and tactics* Expertise in AP Style* Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.* Exceptional grammar and writing skills in narrative, short form and press release formats.* Ability to positively and professionally interact with internal and external stakeholders* Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple projects while meeting deadlines* Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely* Strong attention to detail* Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applicationsWe are a prestigious university with strong traditions, Core Values, and a community of caring and collaboration.
