Position Overview

We are looking for a creative and versatile Assistant Producer to support BullsTV in producing industry-leading digital video content. In this role, you will assist across all stages of video production: pre-production, production, and post-production, while also taking on editing responsibilities. You will work closely with our producers and editors to craft compelling video content that showcases the Bulls team and brand on and off the court.

The Chicago Bulls video team BullsTV is the in-house video production arm within the Bulls Content Department. This team aims to create first-class, compelling content that advances Bulls fandom, gives unique insight to the team, and contributes to overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with producers, camera operators, and editors to help develop and execute storytelling for a variety of content formats.
  • Assist in pre-production tasks including story ideation, research, storyboard prep, and planning logistics.
  • Provide on-set production support: camera, lighting, audio, grip, and general crew assistance.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain production equipment; support studio operations and manage gear inventory.
  • Edit video content and contribute to editing workflows: sync footage, assemble selects and project prep, encode/transcode media, captioning, and exports.
  • Help manage footage, logging, tagging, and metadata in the Bulls Media Asset Management system (Iconik).
  • Collaborate with the content team to brainstorm new creative concepts and help produce original Bulls content franchises.
  • Support the delivery of partnership and branded content, ensuring quality and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed, including shooting, sound recording, editing, music selection, color correction, audio mixing, and assisting in live production environments.
  • Incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders to refine and improve content.

Qualifications

As an ideal candidate, you will be a highly organized self-starter who works well across departments and has experience in short form content. In addition, you will have the following:

  • 2-3 years of professional video production experience; sports industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in all aspects of video production, including filming, lighting and audio.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite experience with an emphasis on Premiere; Photoshop and After Effects skills is a bonus
  • Familiar with digital cinema cameras (Sony FX9/FX6, Canon Cinema EOS, Arri Mini) and standard production equipment.
  • Experience with Media Asset Management, logging, and tagging footage (Iconik preferred).
  • Strong understanding of digital content formats (16x9, 1x1, 9x16) and delivery platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to manage tasks under tight deadlines while remaining detail-oriented and creative.
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset with the ability to give and receive feedback.
  • Effective and quick decision-making in a dynamic environment.
  • This role requires flexible work hours and may include work outside of normal office hours during the business week and on weekends.

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $50,000 - $55,000 annually and is eligible to earn overtime pay + annual discretionary bonus. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

The Chicago Bulls offer workplace flexibility. Full-time remote work is not an option for this role and interested applicants should be currently located in or prepared to move to the Chicagoland area. This role will require a flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
