The Role & Responsibilities
The Honest Co is seeking a strong, Senior Data and Content Strategist to join our eCommerce team. This role is key to Honest's digital success and is built for a self-starter who tackles complex problems, is organized, and aims to impact The Honest Co’s “digital first” mindset. The Senior Data & Content Strategist will drive digital content execution across the .com marketplaces, with a primary focus on Amazon. Working with the VP of eCommerce and the Amazon National Account Manager, this role will optimize The Honest Company's online presence, improve organic search and traffic rankings, and maximize conversion. The focus will be on digital content performance—developing a learning agenda, setting KPIs, designing and executing A/B tests, and improving content development efficiency.
Responsibilities include driving organic sales on Amazon, improving keyword ranking, increasing conversion, enhancing product listings, and supporting on-time product launches. You should demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, SEO/optimization experience, and a passion for testing and reporting on content that resonates with consumers. You will leverage and share learnings on 1P tools, AI integration in search, and market-wide content strategies with the broader ecommerce team.
Areas of Responsibility
OMNI: manage, audit, and track eContent; own eContent changes and uploads for current and new items
Collaborate with Creative and Brand teams to develop digital content strategy and assets, ensuring alignment with company initiatives and channel needs
Incorporate consumer reviews and questions into content development and socialize insights
Review competitor brands to assess opportunities and merchandising tactics
Develop gap/opportunity analyses of digital content performance and set KPIs aligned to business goals
Track content performance, prepare monthly scorecards, and suggest improvements
Digital Shelf: maintain CommerceIQ for scorecards, content performance, SOT, auditing, and insights
AMAZON-SPECIFIC: lead onsite audits and issues tracking for Amazon retail pages; manage content in Vendor Central and syndication platform
Lead retail execution of demand-driving activities; manage merchandising/promotional calendars in Amazon’s system
Design and execute digital coupons; monitor ROI of campaigns
Execute and report on SnS metrics; support assortment variation strategy
Coordinate with Product Supply and Amazon for launches and demand events
Co-own new product launches and define go-to-market requirements
Maintain product pages and brand stores; optimize monthly
Gather copy/assets for on-site features and templates; develop A+ content with Creative
Maintain merchandising calendar and brand store posts; analyze brand store analytics and competitors
Collaborate with Amazon team on content troubleshooting and quarterly keyword reports; audit CPF and Brand Registry pages
Use SKAI and Vendor Central for SOV insights; adjust keywords to improve ranking
Align eCommerce content with digital media strategy using audience insights
Job Qualifications
The Ideal Candidate : We look for agility, operational discipline, collaboration, data & analytics skills, and proactive ownership. Experience with data administration or strong technical aptitude is preferred. Demonstrated ability to turn analytics into insights and to work independently in a fast-paced environment is required.
8-10 years of professional experience; 3-5 years in Amazon and/or eCommerce (Vendor Central required)
3-5 years of CPG experience preferred but not required
Familiarity with Amazon marketing capabilities and other retailers (Walmart, Target)
Experience with content management systems (Syndigo, Salsify) and DAM platforms
Ability to drive traffic and conversion through digital principles
Proficiency in AMC, DSP; ability to read and act on KPIs
Strong data navigation and Excel skills; ability to turn data into insights
Strong communication skills; ability to tailor messaging to audiences
Proactive, adaptable, and able to lead defined work streams independently
What you’ll need
8-10 years of professional experience, including 3-5 years in Amazon/eCommerce (Vendor Central)
CPG experience preferred but not required
Familiarity with Amazon marketing and other brick-and-click retailers
Content management systems and DAM familiarity
Ability to drive digital KPIs and understand digital principles
Strong analytical and communication skills
Proactive, adaptable, and collaborative mindset
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation range: $110,000 - $130,000. Actual compensation depends on experience and location. Total rewards may include base salary, annual incentive plan, benefits, retirement, equity, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Benefits vary by position and location.
