Creator Strategist - Developers & Technical Communities
to help shape how Microsoft engages with developer and ITDM (information technology decision makers) audiences. This role will support the development and execution of creator and community-led storytelling across Azure, Fabric, Security, and other commercial brands — helping connect business priorities and product truth with audience relevance and platform-native expression. You’ll bring a sharp editorial lens, instincts for developer culture, technical experience with software and developer tools, and a collaborative mindset that spans strategy, creative, and execution. From identifying creator partners to shaping content formats and co-creation models, you’ll help bring Microsoft’s developer and ITDM strategy to life — working cross-functionally to ensure every idea is technically credible, brand-right, and strategically impactful. Bachelor’s Degree in related field AND 3+ years experience in marketing, developer relations, community content strategy, content production, software development, product management, AND/OR storytelling, or related work experience
OR equivalent experience.
3+ years experience in working with creators and developer communities, managing co-creation processes, or producing creator and community-first content campaigns. 3+ years experience in platform-native storytelling and cultural trends in developer/engineering ecosystems. Additional or preferred qualifications Master\'s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Cultural Studies, or related field AND 2+ years experience in creator marketing, influencer strategy, social content, or digital brand storytelling, or related work experience
OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Cultural Studies, or related field AND 5+ years experience in creator marketing, influencer strategy, social content, or digital brand storytelling, or related work experience OR equivalent experience.
Experience in a matrixed or enterprise organization and the ability to balance creative vision with strategic and operational needs. Cross-functional collaboration and communication skills. Familiarity with B2B (business to business) audiences or the ability to make technical topics accessible through creative storytelling and community activation. Fluency in social platform trends and creator formats (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Threads, etc.). Technical fluency with experience using tooling such as VS Code, Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI Foundry, Databricks, Snowflake, GitHub, and more Experience helping large brands earn relevance and credibility in technical spaces Integrated Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year. Support the development of content co-creation strategies aligned to commercial brand priorities, campaigns, and social moments. Identify, vet, and recommend creators who align with Microsoft’s values, business goals, and technical storytelling ambitions. Help develop briefs, content formats, and co-creation frameworks that enable authentic, high-performing developer-focused content. Track developer trends, emerging voices, and platform shifts to inform future planning and partner selection. Collaborate with creative, brand, influencer marketing, and integrated marketing teams to ensure co-created developer content is on-message, on-brand, and on-platform. Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure legal, brand, and product requirements are integrated into co-creation workflows. Translate customer experience signals surfaced via social through to relevant product teams Support Microsoft Employee Generated Content (EGC) endeavors by co-creating content with internal developers and product leaders to build authentic connections between Microsoft and the developer community Support performance tracking and insights generation, contributing to post-campaign recaps and best practice development. Help define guidelines and toolkits for creator engagement across business units and teams.
