Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Senior Fashion Designer to join a dynamic and fast-growing fashion company. The Senior Designer will play a pivotal role in shaping the creative direction and developing 4560 innovative, trend-forward, and cost-effective products across assigned categories each month, managing the process from concept to final sample.
This leadership role involves managing daily workflow within the design team and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure alignment with the company's vision and seasonal goals. Reporting to senior leadership, the Senior Designer will balance trend-driven insights with original creativity, guiding collections from concept through execution. Mentorship of junior designers and collaboration with cross-functional partners are key aspects of this position.
Base pay range: $100,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
- Translate seasonal concepts and inspiration into cohesive, commercially viable products across multiple categories such as knits, wovens, tops, bottoms, dresses, and outerwear.
- Conduct ongoing market research to stay informed on emerging silhouettes, fabrics, and cultural trends through social media, pop culture, and global fashion influences.
- Proactively source new fabrics, trims, and materials ahead of each season; present selections to senior design leadership.
- Create and oversee detailed tech packs that clearly communicate design intent, construction, and finish details for development teams.
- Lead and support prototype fittings for all adopted styles, maintaining design integrity while incorporating feedback from buyers and internal teams.
- Manage the seasonal calendar, sample tracking, and development milestones; proactively flag risks and opportunities to keep the design process on track.
- Troubleshoot issues in partnership with leadership while supporting junior designers in problem-solving.
- Maintain consistent communication with cross-functional partners including development teams, production, and creative departments.
- Mentor junior designers by providing constructive feedback, skill-building support, and career development opportunities.
- Play a key role in evolving the brands design DNA to ensure collections reflect both commercial success and forward-thinking creativity.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelors or Associates degree in Fashion or Apparel Design.
- 58 years of fashion design experience across multiple categories, preferably within fast-fashion or trend-driven brands.
- Proven leadership abilities with team management and workflow ownership experience.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Excel.
- Strong design aesthetic with excellent color sense and conceptual development skills.
- In-depth knowledge of garment construction, fabrication techniques, trims, embellishments, and finishing methods.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset with ability to take direction, troubleshoot issues effectively under pressure.
- Strong business acumen with an understanding of how design decisions impact company goals.
