Senior Manager, SEO/AEO/LLM
Simply Business is seeking a visionary Senior Manager, SEO/AEO/LLM to lead our organic search strategy into the next era. This role goes beyond traditional SEO and focuses on a future where search integrates user experience, Generative AI, Answer Engine Optimization and large language models. You will define a "Search Everywhere" strategy to position us as the answer for small business insurance needs, increasing organic traffic and driving high-value, high-converting users. You will champion this approach as a core component of our product and business development.
What You’ll Do
- Strategic Leadership: Develop the framework and strategy for SEO, Answer Engine Optimization (GEO) and Large Language Models (LLM), aligned with our business and product goals.
- Execution: Create and drive the SEO/AEO/LLM roadmap, manage prioritization, execution and optimization of performance initiatives. Drive original and authoritative content at scale.
- Data-Driven Execution: Conduct technical and content audits, analyze how audiences discover and consume information across platforms; collaborate with analytics and finance to forecast, size, and measure impact through structured testing and experimentation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with agencies, vendors and internal teams (Paid Media, Content, Operations, Product, Engineering) to translate strategy into action, establishing EEAT practices and related enhancements.
- Product Partnership & Discoverability: Work with product teams to improve discoverability, including requirements for programmatic pages, content hubs, off-site mentions and citation, widgets, quizzes to optimize presence on traditional and emerging search platforms.
- Ecosystem & Tools: Assess and optimize our tools and tech stack to stay cutting-edge and efficient.
- Innovation & Best Practices: Research and apply new methodologies in the AI search landscape; set best practices for internal teams and clients to stay ahead.
- Expert Consultation: Serve as the primary point of contact for SEO, GEO, and LLM questions, providing guidance, reporting and thought leadership.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 10-15+ years of SEO experience with a track record of developing and executing large-scale organic search strategies.
- Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of modern web technologies and how search and AI bots crawl, index, and rank sites; proficiency in technical SEO including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Schema Markup.
- AI & LLM Expertise: Experience with Generative AI and LLMs and how they affect search behavior, with ability to develop strategies for optimizing content and experiences for these engines.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytics with proficiency in tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and the ability to derive actionable business insights.
- Communication & Influence: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and leadership.
- Leadership: Experience in a senior/leadership role, with ability to communicate strategy, lead agency/vendor relationships, mentor team members, and drive cross-unit collaboration.
