Lighting Workshop is seeking a seasoned Senior Lighting Designer to join our team. The candidate is ideally well-rounded in both creative design sensibilities and technical expertise, applying their knowledge on a variety of project types during all phases from schematic design through construction administration. The position requires the ability to innately understand both the client’s vision and project’s requirements, then collaborating with the Lighting Designers and mobilizing teams to create successfully completed projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Formulate creative design solutions, understanding both technical and budget implications that may affect construction, feasibility, and overall aesthetics.
  • Effortlessly presents design solutions to the client with the ability to foresee and communicate in a timely manner logistical challenges.
  • Effectively communicates with all project stakeholders and internal team members.
  • Lead multiple teams on a variety of project types during all design and construction phases.
  • Strategizes to manage teams and steer projects to successful completion.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to work well in collaborative studio environments, with clients, and with external project teams.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Have a developed and keen design sensibility.

Required

  • At least 10 years of Architectural Lighting Design experience. Please include a resume and portfolio along with your application.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and familiarity with AGI32
  • Thorough understanding of architectural practices, design protocols, and methods.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, or related is preferred.

Recommended:

  • LEED Certified or have a basic understanding of green design methods.

Location:

  • The candidate must be able to commute to Brooklyn, NY.
  • Note the office enjoys a flexible hybrid work model, including 3 days per week in-person.
