Overview
Preferred Education: Degree or Certification in a graphic or visual design or equivalent in design work experience.
Required Skills, Experience, & Abilities
- UI Design Excellence: Strong command in visual design principles (layout, color, topography, hierarchy) and ability to create polished, scalable UI aligned with design systems.
- Motion and Interaction Design: Proficiency in motion design tools (e.g.: Rive, ProtoPie, After Effects) and ability to design animations, micro-interactions, and transitions that enhance usability and brand expression.
- Prototyping and Rapid Exploration: Skilling in building interactive prototypes to communicate flows and motions concepts. Capable of testing and iterating on animation concepts quickly.
- Cross Discipline Collaboration: Experience working with UX, copy, and development teams to integrate motion into the product. Ability to hand off specs and motion guidelines developers can implement reliably.
- Accessibility and Performance Awareness: Understanding of motion accessibility (e.g.: reduced motion settings, avoiding motion that can cause discomfort). Awareness of performance impacts of motion on mobile devices, ensuring animations remain smooth and usable.
- Digital portfolio required. Inspiring portfolio showcasing your design aesthetic. Portfolio should also demonstrate your user-centered product design experience and clue us in to your strategic thinking through case studies of recent work. Well qualified candidates will also have examples of mobile/native app experiences.
Role
The mobile app creatives are a team of multidisciplinary product designers and content strategists. We support two mobile apps under this umbrella and are looking to grow our design team. We are part of a larger product organization and work collaboratively with our product, engineering and business partners to solve complex business problems with a user-centric perspective.

- As a Sr. UI Designer/Visual Designer, you’ll be a key member of a dynamic product design team supporting native app initiatives. We are looking for a designer experienced in product design with a strong visual design background. You will assist the design director in setting the direction for the native apps’ unique look and feel without compromising usability or brand alignment. In this role you will work closely with peer UX & CX leads, guide product designers and collaborate with cross-functional project teams to launch well designed, user-centered features that meet business goals.
Responsibilities
- Assist art director in improving the visual aesthetic of the apps by developing ideas that are pushing the boundaries of product design and brand storytelling.
- Assist art director in maintaining the evolving design strategy and evangelizing established design principles.
- Review and evaluate product design (visual & UI) from concept to delivery, ensuring compliance with brand, digital design standards and best practices. Provide tangible feedback to improve product quality and visual design.
- Partner with UX & CX leads to drive end-to-end design execution. Advocate for feature prioritization based on a deep understanding of potential customer and business impact.
- Understand and grow our app design system to deliver a consistent and rich app experience.
- Function as a bridge across disciplines: product, engineering, business, and other design teams and help drive cross discipline & cross team collaboration.
- Assist in contributing design initiatives to the product roadmap.
- Create design concepts, and produce sketches, wires, high fidelity mockups, and prototypes; (user flows, architecture, customer journeys a plus).
- Represent the app’s unique visual design perspective, as a subset of digital design, in cross team projects or with outsourced designers/teams.
- Assist in guiding designers to execute using the design process. Contribute to improving our internal process.
- Drive innovation through ideation sessions, design workshops.
- Partner with researchers to gain insights and improve designs, and bring a level of confidence to design deliverables.
- Contribute to developing design culture.
- Help to foster a fun, collaborative and supportive culture in which we are able to produce career-defining work.
