Overview

Media Analyst position in Washington, DC with Chenega MIOS. The Media Analyst will provide support in media analysis, communications, international affairs, market research, or related areas.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain proficiency in research and analytical software tools.
  • Conduct research, gather data, assess information, interpret results, and write reports using a variety of research tools.
  • Observe ethical standards, customer service, and respect for workplace diversity.
  • Provide real-time analytical reporting on issue-specific events and media coverage.
  • Research, track, analyze, and make recommendations to leadership on evolving trends in social media tools, applications, and techniques.
  • Produce regularly scheduled reports summarizing messaging across Joint Staff Social Media platforms and platform-specific resonance.
  • Assist OCJCS(PA) Social Media Lead with curating and posting content on assigned Joint Staff platforms.
  • Assist in content moderation and flag/report comments that violate rules of engagement.
  • Staffing as articulated by the Secretary, the Chairman, and other senior officials and spokespersons.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college with emphasis in at least one of the relevant areas.
  • 4+ years of verifiable experience in media analysis, communications, international affairs, market research, or related areas (combination of study and work experience acceptable).
  • Secret DoD clearance required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to identify top-line trends and sub-trends and to write reports or present findings concisely and clearly.
  • Ability to conduct media analysis and report on how domestic and foreign media outlets cover DoD, Joint Staff, and related national security matters.
  • Working knowledge of DoD structure, functions, and major policies.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure, both independently and in teams.
  • Ability to apply software to ongoing and last-minute research and analysis.
