Maxillofacial Certified Medical Assistant

Under the direction of the Physician/Clinician, performs a variety of clinical and clerical services to support physician practice in an outpatient setting. Duties include: Maintaining medical records in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems Assisting nursing/medical staff with tasks related to preliminary assessment, education, and documentation of patient condition Obtaining vital signs and other pertinent health information Administration of basic tests Transporting or accompanying patients Documenting patient medications for medication reconciliation by history Administering approved injections Assisting in collection and processing of patient specimens Maintaining patient care environment in compliance with safety and infection control requirements Performing and documenting quality control tests on equipment Cleaning and sterilizing equipment Obtaining pre-authorizations and referrals Maintaining patient files and medical records Scheduling patient appointments Checking patients in and out, requisitioning charts/studies, registering patients and activating accounts Assisting other staff with office reception and business support functions Collecting cash payments from patients Participating in initiatives to promote effective process design, development and implementation of EHR and other technologies Patient Needs Focus: Recognizing needs, physical characteristics and behavior of a variety of age groups and special needs of patients Performing other related duties and participating in special projects as assigned Minimum Qualifications Required: High school graduation or equivalent Possession of a current/valid certification as a Certified Medical Assistant by an approved certifying board Possession of a current/valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support CPR Certification Preferred Qualifications: Two years experience working with surgeons, maxillofacial prosthodontists, orthodontists Two years experience working in an ambulatory clinic setting To Apply: For fullest consideration click on the Apply Now button, please fully complete all sections of the online application including adding your full work history with specific details of your duties & responsibilities for each position held.
