POSITION PURPOSE:

American Conservatory Theater has an immediate opening for a passionate, driven individual to join our dynamic Marketing Department. The Digital Content Creator will work with the marketing team to execute strategy across our emerging and existing social, email, and web channels. This position supports the Marketing Department’s efforts to build awareness and sales for A.C.T.’s mainstage productions and associated events, as well as events with the Conservatory and Education & Community Programs teams.

This position is a great opportunity for an individual with a basic background in marketing and a passion for the non-profit sector seeking an opportunity to be part of an energetic, fun, and creative team at an excellent arts organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Please note that this list is not exhaustive, but rather a representation of job duties.

Execution of Social, Email, and Web Based Campaigns (70%)

Support includes but is not limited to:

  • Work with the marketing team to create content across platforms. Generally this content creating will include writing copy for social and email marketing
  • Creation of video content for social media and other platforms
  • Identify opportunities to test new channels, formats, and messaging
  • Measure and report effectiveness of our social efforts in a way that ties back to the business bottom line
  • Coordinate and manage the social media and digital promotion calendar
  • Assist in updating the organization’s website

Overall Marketing Support (30%)

Support includes but is not limited to:

  • Create and track opening night invitations and oversee opening night seating for staff, cast, invited guests, and press
  • Coordinate and assist in staffing special promotions and events (i.e., Opening Nights, InterACT events, etc)
  • Create, coordinate, and execute marketing partnerships with other Bay Area organizations for mainstage productions, when needed
  • Provide overall support for the programs and strategies implemented throughout the Marketing team

QUALIFICATIONS & QUALITIES:

  • Demonstrated skill in understanding of cultural differences.
  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with A.C.T. colleagues and stakeholders.
  • 1–3 years equivalent work experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact comfortably with various personalities.
  • Exemplary organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • A great candidate is an outgoing, creative, people-person who is able to work both independently and collaboratively with other staff members.
  • Some graphic skills (knowledge of Adobe Suite is a plus) and ability to create and edit engaging video content.
  • Some night and weekend work is required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
