About Mekanism AI Superstudio

Mekanism AI Superstudio is a new integrated department within Mekanism, focused on transforming how we create, scale, and automate content using AI. Our objective is to expand our clients’ ability to tell their stories at any scale, without sacrificing quality. We aim to integrate three key capabilities: high-quality AI video, high-volume AI assets, and automated content workflows. The AI Superstudio powers Soul & Science, creating quality content at scale.

About the Role

We’re seeking an AI Content Creator with a sharp creative eye and a passion for storytelling. In this role, you’ll work within our AI Superstudio to explore how new tools can unlock more expressive, resourceful, and imaginative ways to produce content.

You’ll be responsible for leveraging the latest AI platforms to concept, generate, and refine visuals, and manually polishing and preparing assets for final delivery. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable experimenting with emerging creative workflows and delivering production-ready content with a keen eye for details and a director’s eye for craft.

Responsibilities

• Content Creation & Editing: Create and edit high-quality narrative videos, including videos and other assets, leveraging AI tools and techniques (Midjourney, Veo3, Runway/Aleph, ElevenLabs, etc).
• AI Integration/Automation: Incrementally integrate tailored AI solutions into our workflow, boosting capacity and creative new possibilities for animation, editing, and social content creation, keeping an eye for bottlenecks and opportunities for automation.
• AI Tool Mastery: Become a proficient AI "prompt engineer" and master at least one AI tool directly relevant to your discipline (Social Content, Editorial, Animation).
• Workflow Optimization: Build scalable workflows that allow AI to take on work typically done by assistant editors, increasing profitability and speed.
• Experimental Work & Learning: Participate in weekly experimental AI Jam Sessions to collaboratively share learnings and refine prompt techniques. Maintain a prompt database for tracking successful and unsuccessful prompts.
• Creative Prototyping: Utilize AI-generated concept visuals, scripts, and storyboards for rapid client approvals during pre-production.
• Production Support: Accelerate animation via AI-assisted keyframe creation and iterative editing with AI-enhanced rough cuts during production.
• Post-Production Optimization: Employ AI-driven optimization for formats/platforms, captions, and dynamic social content versions in post-production.
• Research & Development: Continuously monitor and experiment with emerging AI tools and platforms to inform future strategies.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the AI Superstudio team, including the Executive Producer, Head of Production, Director of Animation, and other Content Creators.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an editor, designer, or content creator
• 1+ years experience with generative AI, with a deep knowledge of current capabilities of both closed and open source models.
• A director’s eye for understanding not just of how to edit a scene, but how to create a scene: blocking, lighting, action, camera moves, audio cues, mood and expressions, are all components of making a compelling story.
• Demonstrated passion for and knowledge of AI and its applications in content creation, including prompt engineering.
• Proficiency and up-to-the-minute knowledge of generative AI tools and workflows (Midjourney, Veo3, Runway/Aleph, ElevenLabs, etc)
• Strong understanding of video editing software and post-production workflows.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• A portfolio of creative content that demonstrates an interest and passion for AI.
• Deep familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, AE, Photoshop)

Regarding compensation, the salary for this role is $120,000 as a full-time employee of Mekanism in the United States. Salaries will vary on the basis of various factors, including but not limited to professional and academic experience, training, associated responsibilities, and other business and organizational needs. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.
