Overview

Event Planner role at ICF. This position is contingent upon a contract award and is not an immediate opening; we are actively conducting interviews and extending offers in anticipation of the award.

The Work

As an Event Planner supporting the Navy’s community-based initiatives, you will coordinate, plan, and execute high-impact public engagement events across the country. You will collaborate closely with senior Navy leadership and communications staff to ensure seamless event logistics, strategic media engagement, and impactful community interactions.

Job Location: This is a remote role that supports events across the country. You’ll need to be open to traveling within the U.S. and working flexible hours during event times—travel is expected to be around 20–25% each year.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and manage event schedules and logistics in coordination with senior Navy leaders.
  • Support strategic planning and execution of Navy events and public engagement events involving senior executives.
  • Create and deliver comprehensive event materials, including trip books and briefing documents, for senior participants.
  • Facilitate on-site event execution, including introductions, coordination, and real-time communication.
  • Assist in the development of media engagement strategies.
  • Contribute to post-event reporting, including after-action summaries and recommendations for future improvements.
  • Support administrative, outreach, and logistical needs for requested Navy events.
  • Coordinate high-level engagements across civic, government, education, media, and public sectors.
  • Provide on-site support during engagements with community leaders, stakeholders, media, and others.

What You Will Bring With You

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
  • 4 or more years of experience in event planning, communications, and public engagement.

What We Would Like You To Bring With You

  • Experience supporting government or community outreach programs.
  • Professional event planning credentials, such as CGMP, CMP, or similar, are strongly preferred.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-visibility environments.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to interface with senior executives and public stakeholders.

Pay Range

The pay range for this position, based on full-time employment, is $55,388.00 - $94,160.00, with multiple factors considered (experience, skills, location, etc.). This is a Nationwide Remote Office (US99) role.
