What youll do

As an Associate Merchant, youll serve as an advocate for customers and see the products you buy come to life in stores and online. Youll be part visionary and part strategist, acting as the expert for your category and leveraging the scale and access of the Walmart system to impact the business and the lives of millions of customers worldwide. Youll be guided by Walmarts culture with the tools and support you need to do your best work.

Youll make an impact by:

• Setting the category strategy: establish strategy, manage budgets to drive profitable growth, and influence the customer experience
• Building relationships: use influencing and leadership skills to partner with suppliers, vendors, business partners and other Associate Merchants
• Making decisions: determine replenishment, supply chain, manufacturers, store operations, planning, assortment, layouts, budgets, modular, and pricing decisions
• Designing, developing, and launching products: collaborate with Product Development and Sourcing teams for Private Brands
• Knowing your category: understand customers and suppliers and continually think about next steps for the business

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

2 years of experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or a related area.

Preferred Qualifications

Microsoft Office, negotiating with third-party suppliers, pricing, site merchandising, planning or inventory, or related area. Degrees: Bachelors in Business or Merchandising.
