You’ll act as a strategic thought partner—guiding product teams with rich, actionable insights and championing the voice of the user from discovery to launch.

Responsibilities

  • Lead user-centered research and design efforts throughout the product development lifecycle—from early concepting through validation and iteration.
  • Serve as the primary UX advocate for our cross-functional partners, promoting design thinking and user empathy across the organization.
  • Translate business and product requirements into meaningful UX objectives, user journeys, and product solutions.
  • Design, plan, and execute qualitative and quantitative research—including usability testing, interviews, surveys, diary studies, and ergonomic assessments.
  • Analyze and synthesize data to uncover user needs, pain points, and opportunities, delivering actionable insights that shape strategic decisions.
  • Create and present compelling reports, presentations, and workshops to communicate findings and influence product direction.
  • Conduct heuristic evaluations, competitive audits, and ergonomic assessments to ensure intuitive and inclusive design.
  • Define UX goals, success metrics, and guidelines based on research and best practices.
  • Stay up to date on emerging UX research methodologies, tools, and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with designers to create prototypes and contribute to iterative design validation.

Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in Human Factors Engineering, Cognitive Psychology, Ergonomics/Anthropometrics, Information/Human Computer Interaction, User Experience Design, or related field.
  • Work Experience: Five+ years of UX research experience in a corporate or consulting setting.
  • Research Expertise: Broad experience with diverse research methodologies and the ability to design, lead, and scale studies independently.
  • Human Factors Knowledge: Deep understanding of ergonomic and anthropometric principles, and how they apply to physical product development.
  • Usability & Prototyping: Skilled in in-person and remote usability testing, from planning to synthesis. Comfortable working with both low- and high-fidelity prototypes.
  • Communication: Excellent storytelling, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills. Able to distill complex findings into clear insights for diverse audiences.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to thrive in cross-functional environments, working independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Motivation & Agility: Curious, flexible, and excited to dive into new domains—from camping gear to kitchen tools to candles.
  • Project Management: Skilled at managing multiple research initiatives in parallel, balancing speed with rigor.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on occasion.
