Position
Weather/News Anchor — El Paso, TX | Full Time
Essential Functions – News Anchor
- Produces content daily for live newscasts and pre-recorded newscasts where applicable.
- Researches, investigates, writes, produces, and anchors general news or special news assignments—recorded and/or live from the studio/field.
- Produces newscasts rundowns.
- Works closely with Assignments Editor, Producers, MMJs and all other staff to ensure all stories are updated and fact checked.
- Ability to create original content and stories for daily newscasts when applicable.
- Attends and participates in off-site company-sponsored and community events as assigned by station management.
Essential Functions – Weather Anchor
- Responsible for relaying the market's weather forecast and stories in a way that connects with and captivates viewers, and conveys the brand.
- Produce weather graphics and analyze data from the National Weather Service as well as other meteorological sources.
- Create complete coverage of weather stories.
- Prepare and post forecasts for multiple platforms.
- Spearhead special weather coverage during severe weather events

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or minimum of 2 years’ experience as Weather Forecaster/Meteorologist.
- Must have experience with severe weather forecasting.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a Full Time position. Actual schedule and hours may vary.
Supervisory Responsibility
Reports directly to News Director
