Xweather brings weather intelligence to decision-makers in every weather-sensitive business. By combining local sensor data with advanced AI predictions, we deliver precise and actionable weather insights. We transform weather challenges into opportunities and build resilience against severe weather and climate change. Xweather is a fully digital subscription service platform.
Role purpose
As Xweather's Media & PR Manager, you will bridge breakthroughs in forecasting, sensor networks, and proprietary weather data into headlines globally. You'll secure coverage that positions us as the market leader in weather intelligence across Tier 1, tech, and trade press and earned media. We are often asked for data and insights on our strengths in lightning, insurance, and the energy industry. Your role is to turn that into a consistent source of support for the media.
Your mission: Land consistent, high-impact global media coverage that spotlights Xweather's innovations.
What is your role?
Media relations
- Develop and drive proactive pitching strategies that land Xweather in top outlets (business, tech, energy, finance, automotive), and other earned media channels.
- Cultivate strong relationships with journalists, editors, and analysts who cover weather, climate, and technology.
- Respond rapidly to breaking weather events with data, graphics, and expert commentary that make Xweather the go-to source.
Press materials & storytelling
- Craft press releases, media pitches, and press kits that translate technical innovations into clear, newsworthy stories.
- Shape narratives that highlight Xweather's role in safety, efficiency, and climate resilience.
- Support spokespeople with talking points, commentary, and ghostwritten op-eds.
- Translate technical concepts into exciting stories together with product and marketing.
Thought leadership
- Secure guest articles, interviews, and panel slots for executives and scientists.
- Drive media visibility around product launches and industry events by coordinating press briefings and analyst sessions.
- Ensure the Xweather media hub is always press-ready with visuals, logos, and updated backgrounders.
What you'll bring:
- A proven portfolio of earned placements in Tier 1, trade press, as well as other earned media channels.
- 5-8 years in B2B tech, weather, environmental, or data-driven PR roles.
- Strong media instincts: you know what makes a story land and how to package it fast.
- Comfort interrogating technical experts and turning complex science into simple, quotable lines and graphics.
- Resilience under deadline pressure and skill at building lasting journalist relationships.
Nice to Have: familiarity with meteorology, climatology, or AI; experience in supporting global SaaS or data platforms.
