What will you do?
Bring our rare and collectible items to life through clean, compelling photography and thoughtful design. You’ll capture products in their best light—literally—and help shape how they appear across print, digital, and social platforms. From setting up shoots and retouching images to building catalogs and marketing content, you’ll support the creative engine that fuels our auctions.
This role is highly collaborative and hands-on, working closely with multiple teams to ensure items flow smoothly through photography, design, and production. Responsibilities
- Use your knowledge of digital photography, studio lighting, backdrop placement and set preparation to deliver quality product photography.
- Assist in studio set-up and breakdown for shoots.
- Coordinate and collaborate with creative team to meet deadlines.
- Edit and retouch photos to achieve true-to-life rendering of products while reducing or eliminating reflections.
- Prepare web-ready images that meet specific size and style requirements.
- Use your knowledge of graphic design to produce print-ready product catalogs in InDesign.
- Use InDesign data merge capabilities to combine photos taken and text from spreadsheets to formulate product listings for print catalogs.
- Prepare eblasts to inform customers about upcoming auctions.
- Prepare, name, and file all digital assets to ensure they are named and stored safely and appropriately according to the production needs and processes.
- Ensure projects are completed in a timely manner with a quality product.
- Travel may be required occasionally to shoot inventory or content at another Richmond Auctions facility (in GA).
- Auction day prep work may be needed in order to help setup, clean, organize and prepare for our auctions.
- Special projects or any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certificate or Diploma in photography and graphics arts preferred.
- Min. 1 year photography and graphic design experience with portfolio.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Applications: Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout composition.
- Experience retouching images as needed (Masking, Exposure, Background Removal, Color-Correction/Conversion, etc.).
- Strong understanding of color management, matching and quality control for print (CMYK) and digital (RGB) imagery.
- Knowledge of digital marketing platforms and channels, including social media, websites and email marketing a plus.
- More advanced Graphic Design skills and/or the ability to help with more complicated content layout and Marketing projects a plus.
- Strong organizational abilities and diligence. Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work on multiple projects at once and to be flexible to adjust to changing priorities.
- Have excellent creative thinking, problem-solving and interactive design skills.
- Excellent communication and people skills. Experience with Excel and other standard Microsoft office suite of products. Fully fluent in English.
Physical requirements
- You may be required to remain stationary for extended periods of time, as well as walk, bend & lift.
- Physical ability to assist is not a must, but a plus.
- Willing and able to work out of our headquarters in Greenville, SC with a reasonable commute distance from the office.
- Local travel may be required within one (1) hr of our office & facility to complete daily tasks.
- This is a full-time position.
- Some overtime required leading up to and during our exciting auction weeks.
