Eaton’s Global Marketing Communications organization is seeking a Manager, Public Relations. Reporting to the Director of the Brand and Thought Leadership Center of Excellence (CoE), this role leads Eaton’s public relations and thought leadership efforts and helps identify and bridge global and regional earned media opportunities. The role will develop and execute public relations and marketing communications plans aligned to our growth strategy and will be responsible for regional PR execution for the Electrical Sector in the Americas, coordinating with EMEA and APAC regional teams to ensure local execution aligns with business goals and global brand objectives.

By establishing a pipeline of high-value content that communicates Eaton’s unique point of view through business and trade media, this role drives awareness of the Eaton brand and positions Eaton as a thought leader across key market segments. The role requires proven experience in campaign management, media relations, PR best practices, governance, standard tools adoption, and measurement to deliver impactful earned media programs globally.

Salary information: The expected annual salary range for this role is $123,750 - $181,500 per year. This position is eligible for a variable incentive program. Salary is a general guideline based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the development and implementation of a global earned media marketing communications strategy that positions Eaton as a thought leader on key industry trends (e.g., energy transition, sustainability, electrification, digitalization) and segment-specific topics. Align PR plans with overall business and brand goals, ensuring regional and business segment alignment and consistent messaging across markets.
  • Lead the development and local execution of Electrical Sector Americas earned media, coordinating with EMEA and APAC regional teams to facilitate local media deployments aligned with the global plan.
  • Identify opportunities to build and maintain strong relationships with top-tier business and trade media journalists, editors and industry influencers globally. Deepen engagement with targeted media by educating them on Eaton’s innovations and perspectives to enhance coverage and understanding of the brand.
  • Serve as a primary Eaton contact for reactive and proactive media inquiries, guiding regional PR managers in handling local media interactions, crisis response, and proactive story pitching.
  • Source content opportunities and be responsible for core asset development and editing of external-facing PR materials including press releases, media briefs, bylines and editorials, speeches, briefing documents, and talking points for Eaton leaders. Ensure content aligns with Eaton’s brand voice globally and apply strong storytelling and writing to maintain quality and consistency.
  • Partner with Government Relations and Public Affairs to provide earned media support for key policy initiatives and advocacy efforts, including regulatory and industry issues.
  • Identify and coordinate Eaton’s participation in strategic industry events and thought leadership forums worldwide. Plan press events, media briefings, and executive speaking engagements in key markets with regional field marketing teams.
  • Responsible for execution in the Americas. Serve as on-site media relations lead at events, manage press attendance, coordinate interviews, and ensure spokespeople are well-prepared and on-message through coaching and preparation.
  • Support onboarding and engagement with the global agency of record. Ensure global programs and campaigns are effectively executed and measured at the regional level; foster partnerships with agency partners to extend Eaton’s media reach.
  • Develop and refine best-practice processes for managing, reporting, and measuring earned media and PR activities. Leverage tools (e.g., content management, media monitoring platforms like Workfront and Agility PR, analytics tools like Power BI) to drive efficiency and insight-sharing across teams.
  • Develop and implement core measurement capabilities to track media coverage and PR performance, providing regular reports and using insights to refine strategies and demonstrate value to stakeholders.

Qualifications

Basic (Required) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in public relations or communications.
