Business/Accounting Manager – Spokane, WA

Family-owned Morgan Murphy Media is seeking a Business/Accounting Manager for an exciting opportunity to join our team of accounting professionals. Our impressive portfolio of multi-state media entities includes Washington-based Television, Radio Stations and digital media distribution platforms. We are looking for an accounting professional that not only has proven success in a financial position but also has exceptional communication skills and will bring innovative ideas to the table to help us create internal efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- General: Work on a myriad of accounting/business related tasks which include, but are not limited to, accounts receivable/payable, property taxes, state taxes, fixed assets, insurance, contract maintenance, payroll and commissions, etc.
- General Ledger/Closing: Journal entries, reconcile accounts in accordance with GAAP, research variances, provide analysis.
- Supervision: Provide supervision of and direction to personnel involved in the accounting cycle.
- Support three Washington market managers and their department heads with daily operations.
- Reporting: Position is integral in the preparation and distribution of monthly financial statements, quarterly forecasts and reviews, and annual budget.
- Audit: Assist with the annual financial audit and other audits during the year.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by CAO and CFO.
- Participate in strategic business decision making, including a variety of analysis and management reports for Company Executives.
Skills/Experience
Ideal candidate will have:
- Accounting degree and proficient GAAP knowledge
- Minimum of three years of experience with financial statement preparation
- Background in Supervision of office and accounting personnel
- Microsoft Office expertise, including Excel and Word
- Desire to learn new software such as MMM business systems
- Strong attention to detail, proven ability to multi-task, and effective communication skills
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $90K - $100K depending on experience
- Benefits: medical, dental, vision, prescription, life insurance, and Employee Assistance Program benefits. 401(k), health savings account, flexible spending account, paid time off including 40 hours of vacation after 6 months, 80 hours after one year, 80 hours of paid sick time per year, 2 personal days and 9 paid holidays.
