You will lead a team of engineers for the Prime Video Fire TV team, responsible for the dedicated Prime Video app and PV experiences on the Launcher, shaping the product and the team culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Software Engineers to build a best-in-class Prime Video experience for millions of customers.
  • Own the roadmap, vision, and strategy to enable customers to have a responsive, delightful, and intuitive experience when interacting with Prime Video.
  • Provide coaching in design, development, testing, and operations as you design, build, and launch new features and experiences.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, Technical Program Managers, Software Engineers, and Software Managers from other teams.
  • Build broader PV Fire TV strategy and roadmap and manage engineering processes to ensure operational burdens are manageable.
  • Ensure customer-facing feature sets are delivered quickly and with high quality; hire, grow, and empower leaders within the team.

A day in the life

  • As a leader of the PV Fire TV application, contribute to the strategy and roadmap for the Fire TV space and own the engineering processes of the organization.
  • Work to keep delivery fast and maintain a high level of quality while supporting the parent organization.
  • Focus on growing leaders internally and recruiting top talent for the team.

About the team

  • The Prime Video Fire TV team owns a mature product that serves millions of customers and is a primary way they interact with Prime Video.
  • The team is mostly based in Seattle and includes a mix of newer and experienced members. Team culture includes regular outings and activities.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
  • 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and effectiveness

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on factors including market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
