Overview
Tzumi Electronics is seeking a meticulous Print Production Artist with experience in setting up Adobe Illustrator and InDesign files for printers. The role works in a collaborative studio environment to ensure high-quality, on-schedule, flawless deliverables. Experience with print production, packaging, and working with die lines is required. Attention to file naming conventions and server organization is essential. Knowledge of mechanical preparation for printing and strong communication skills to collaborate with overseas factories and vendors throughout the project lifecycle are key components of this position. This is an in-office position.
Key Responsibilities
- Create final mechanicals for all printed marketing materials, including retouched artwork, correct print-specific color specs, and dimensions
- Maintain typesetting and typography standards
- Provide Creative support as needed
- Problem-solve issues in real time on tight schedules
- Adhere to weekly production schedules
- Actively participate in creative/production handoff meetings
- Manage projects from creative hand-off through final delivery to factories for printing
- Adhere to mechanical quality print standards and Print Ink standards
- Review internal and external proofs and maintain the integrity of the creative concept through production
- Create mechanical mock-ups for proofs
- Maintain naming and folder organization for archiving files/folders
- Communicate with factories promptly and effectively via email and project management tools
Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of image, color, and file requirements for digital vs. print applications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Prepress/Printing experience is required
- Proficiency with workflow tools (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Teams)
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and related tools (e.g., Figma)
- Experience delivering final print-ready mechanicals for large-format printing
- Experience delivering digital assets (slicing and archiving) for marketing emails, website content, and social media
- Strong design and typography sense to support conceptual development
- Working knowledge of various printing platforms and prepress techniques and digital delivery formats
- Meticulous in file preparation for print
- A strong portfolio is required for all applicants
Location: New York, NY area. This role is in-office and requires on-site presence.
