Kleinschmidt has a full time opening for a Designer-Drafter in Portland, Oregon or Redmond, Washington to support the delivery of hydroelectric and fish passage projects. Salary: $29.00-45.00 per hour (based on experience)

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of drawings of concrete and steel structures and general civil design on hydroelectric and fish passage projects under the direction of mid- and senior-level engineering staff.
  • Travel may be required to gather project information and provide support throughout the project design and construction phases.
Qualifications
  • Associates in Drafting or similar degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in AutoCAD leading the development of architectural, structural (concrete and steel structures), mechanical, electrical, and civil drawing sets.
  • Proven 3D design experience with ability to visualize and communicate in 3D.
  • Experience with Civil 3D and modeling software (Solidworks, AutoCAD MEP, Revit, BIM, MicroStation, InfraWorks, Recap, and/or 3DsMax).
  • Excellent problem solving skills and oral and written communication skills
  • Enjoys collaborating with clients and co-workers and can integrate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Autodesk Advanced Certified Professional
  • Experience with hydropower related projects
Additional Requirements
  • Must possess permanent authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to travel periodically and possess a valid driver's license

Travel may be required to gather project information and provide support throughout the project design and construction phases. Kleinschmidt focuses on practical solutions with multi-disciplinary teams for renewable energy projects, dam removals, embankment dam repairs, fish passage facilities, recreation facilities, and stream restorations.
