Bloomberg News is seeking a reporter to join its team in New York that tracks the most financially challenged companies in the Americas. This role will involve pulling together data points across the distressed-debt market to connect the dots for readers and highlight which companies are on the rebound and which are veering toward the brink of bankruptcy.
This beat can feature some of the biggest household names as well as little-known enterprises, and the role demands being able to get up to speed on both through market pricing and industry reports. The ideal candidate will have sharp storytelling and analytical skills that can bring numbers to life and explain what they mean for sophisticated market participants and online readers alike.
We're looking someone with exceptional collaboration skills who can join forces with our team of well-sourced reporters to break news that sets the agenda for those in the distressed-debt market.

Analyze industry data to pinpoint news on distressed companies in North America

Build sources to generate intelligent, high-impact stories

Cover the beat with speed and accuracy

Write insightful, thought-provoking features that add value

Collaborate with colleagues across our more than 120 bureaus globally
You'll need to have:

A minimum of three years in journalism with a focus on credit markets or corporate finance, or five years in business journalism with a proven track record for breaking news on beat coverage of a company or industry

Experience with real-time news

Ability to write quickly and clearly under deadline pressure

Ability to use data to generate breaking news as well as informative feature stories

A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Salary Range = 90000 - 120000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
