The opportunity: This is an exciting moment in the history of television and social networks! The way people discover, watch, and talk about tv is changing. People are spending less time watching television and spending more time watching narrative video on their smartphones. We believe mobile tv is the future. We also believe mobile tv will be highly social. Our product:

We are building a social video product where people watch and talk to each other about their favorite tv shows. Our prototype app is called CRASH OUTS Henry - Kino intro video - 3 minutes long.mov Our goal:

We are a team of engineers, designers, and PMs who've built 0-1 products at Instagram, Facebook, Airchat, Snapchat, Alo, IDEO, and BeReal. We are writers and producers who've made talkworthy female-led tv shows at Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu. Investors: GV (Google Ventures), Patreon CEO Jack Conte, and leaders from Meta, Hulu, HBO. We are producing 10 new short form shows Create a community of 5M young women who watch + talk to each other everyday Our shows are inspired by the unique format of the hugely popular Norwegian tv series SKAM 2. What you'll design at Kino:

World-class video experience. Create useful and delightful products that help audiences to easily watch narrative stories on mobile. Elegant creative and sharing tools. Design elegant tools that help audiences talk, make memes, create fan edits, and connect with each other over the stories on the platform. Identity and community: We're building a social network. People come for the show. And stay for the network. We are building a space where the fan discussion/community is as much fun as the show itself. 3. About You:

Skills:

Mission Aligned: You're passionate about the future of social networks and the future of tv. Technical Expert: You're an expert in Figma. You build fast prototypes (Origami, Play, ProtoPie, or vibe coding) that our team and beta users can use. You're meticulous and hold a high quality bar for well crafted consumer products. User Research: You love talking to users to understand the problems they have. Experience:

Senior Designer: You've owned or led the development of ambitious projects. Consumer social media products: You've built 0-1 consumer social and video products. You think constantly about how new social products can drive user-driven growth of our shows and platform. Soft skills:

Low ego, high EQ: You're self-aware. Collaborative: You like working with a multidisciplinary team. Love brainstorms & lively (respectful!) product debates. Ambiguity is fun. Clear communicator. You can reason through trade-offs and communicate simply with technical and non-technical peers. Work style:

Goals-focused: You set ambitious goals and hit them. You fall in love with problems, not solutions: You're not afraid to throw out designs and code. You care about good product, not just design: You are excited to work with the team to identify new ideas, test them quickly, and double down on the things that work. You are independent: Scrappy.
