Overview

Midtown is seeking a talented and creative Content and Social Media Manager to join our team. This dual role is about 60% content management and 40% managing our social media channels. You will develop and execute our creative content strategy across digital and print platforms, align with Midtown's vision, and resonate with our target audience. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead content creation, shape our brand voice, and manage our social media channels to improve our digital community and brand connection. The team is based in our HQ office in Chicago (3611 N Kedzie Ave.) and supports all club locations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with Midtown’s goals, target audience, and brand identity.
  • Drive brand awareness, engagement, and lead generation through strategic content marketing.
  • Lead creation of high-quality content across platforms including social media, app, website, email, and in-club marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and develop content supporting marketing initiatives, product launches, and thought leadership.
  • Manage the performance of organic social media channels.
  • Manage in-house photographer/videographer and social media coordinator to support content creation and social channel performance.
  • Build relationships across club teams to support brand representation and content creation.
  • Manage content calendar and ensure timely content delivery across digital platforms.
  • Create, curate and manage social media content (text, audio, visual, multimedia) and publish across all channels.
  • Coordinate with designers and videographers to oversee visually appealing, multimedia assets.
  • Ensure brand consistency and compliance with brand guides and voice.
  • Maintain content libraries and organize assets for future use.
  • Engage users, organize competitions, ask questions, and cultivate relationships.
  • Coordinate with club representatives to create engaging lo-fi content to support channels.
  • Research industry trends, market insights, and competitors to inform and optimize content strategy.
  • Monitor social media developments in design, AI, and platform innovations to keep content relevant and effective.
  • Track and analyze content performance metrics and make data-driven recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Required: 2+ years of experience as a social media manager.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Background in asset management with ability to prioritize creation of new assets vs. allocation from current libraries.
  • Proficiency in social media and analytics tools (e.g., Brandwatch) to post, monitor performance, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Analytical mindset to interpret data and optimize content performance.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Cultural understanding to tailor content to target audience preferences.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of AI tools and trends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a content manager, media manager or similar role.
  • Leadership experience including managing time and budget allocation of other team members.
  • Experience in content strategy development and implementation.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and keyword research tools.
  • Familiarity with content distribution and amplification strategies, including social media advertising and influencer marketing.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, InDesign, Illustrator).
  • Understanding of UX principles and web design best practices.
  • Interest in fitness and wellness to influence content decisions.

Salary Range: Starting at $70,000. Actual compensation will depend on experience and skills.
