Social Media Content Creator at World Equestrian Center / Columbus Hospitality Management is hiring to develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy to enhance visibility and engagement for equestrian events. This role requires strong storytelling, hands-on content creation (filming, editing, publishing), and the ability to work across camera, editing suite, and online communities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic content plan for WEC-owned horse shows to maximize audience engagement, brand awareness, and revenue-driving conversions.
- Maintain a consistent posting schedule across key platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube), adapting content for each platform.
- Capture real-time photo and video content at horse shows using professional-grade equipment, ensuring high-quality visuals.
- Film and edit short-form and mid-length video content (Reels, highlights, athlete/trainer features, behind-the-scenes coverage, etc.).
- Deliver quick-turnaround edits for short-form content to ensure timely posting during and after events.
- Produce digital advertising videos and paid social content to promote WEC equestrian events, meeting campaign objectives.
- Work closely with the official show photographer to review and select images aligned with social media storytelling and marketing goals.
- Oversee daily social media engagement, responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure all equestrian sponsorship social media deliverables are fulfilled in alignment with contractual agreements.
- Creatively integrate sponsor brands into organic content to maximize exposure and engagement.
- Monitor, track, and analyze key social media metrics to identify trends and refine strategies for audience growth, using data-driven insights and staying current with industry trends and platform updates.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of equestrian sports and horse show culture; hunter/jumper experience is preferred, but candidates with outstanding track records in high-level sport-related content creation may be considered without direct equestrian experience.
Qualifications
- Professional experience in videography and photography using professional cameras and equipment (in addition to mobile devices).
- Proven experience managing social media platforms for a brand, team, or event.
- Ability to grow followers and engagement across social platforms; bonus for candidates who can show revenue growth through social media efforts.
- Experience creating content optimized for paid social campaigns.
- Professional experience in video and photo editing using Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, etc.) is preferred; other industry-standard editing software may be considered.
- Proven ability to film, edit, and produce social-first video content, including real-time event coverage.
- Portfolio of work samples demonstrating interview, highlight reels, and social media-focused video content (submission required).
- Proficiency in social media management tools.
- Collaborative, solution-focused team player with a positive attitude and adaptability in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and extended event coverage as needed.
- Equine (Hunter/Jumper) experience preferred.
