Overview
The National Security Group at Leidos has an opening for a Hardware and Video System Administrator to support a client in a challenging, dynamic setting located at Cape Canaveral SFB, FL. The position requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph. The Hardware and Video System Administrator receives and responds to problems reported by customers and escalates as needed. The role involves working in a highly collaborative environment with teammates, key stakeholders and the Government customer to ensure mission continuity and support to the IC community.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the availability of mission critical launch communications systems through proactive hardware maintenance.
- Perform incident and problem management to resolve or escalate issues to restore service.
- Perform request fulfillment activities including account management and configuration changes.
- Coordinate with other maintenance, operations and engineering contracts as required.
- Document all work performed via ticketing system.
- Create, update or enhance maintenance and operations documentation.
- Perform daily system checks for alerts or degradation of service or system health.
- Provide call-in support as required.
- Responsible for configuration management of launch communications systems in support of launch projects.
- Identify configuration items, implement change control, and conduct configuration audits.
- Create and manage configuration and engineering documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness (e.g., facility maps, site floor plans, rack elevations, patch panels, equipment shelf layouts, system overviews).
- Regulate the change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into a launch system and related IT hardware assets.
- Ensure that all changes to baselines go through appropriate change boards.
- Use or recommend automated CM tools to implement CM policies and procedures.
- Ensure CM functions are adhered to: version control of configuration items, and configuration management of hardware and software items.
- Recommend change management and configuration management solutions that effectively meet customer needs.
Basic Qualifications
- US Citizen with an active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Launch or mission operations experience.
- Experience supporting configuration management, change management and service transition.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Willingness to perform call-in support as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills
- SharePoint, NETS, ServiceNow
- ITIL Foundations certification
- Current DoD 8570 certification applicable to the position (typically Security+)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project)
