Overview Marketing and Publicity Manager - Adult Non-Fiction Sourcebooks has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing & Publicity Manager within the adult non-fiction team, including bestselling memoir, true crime, self-help, cooking, and more. This is not a typical marketing role. You will lead and disrupt, with the opportunity to shape the imprint’s books and brand as well as the marketing. This position is ideal for an experienced marketer with an interest in publicity. This position can be hybrid in Naperville or NYC, or fully remote in the following states ONLY: Arizona, Connecticut, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin. Occasional travel to trade shows, training opportunities, and author events is required. This is an exempt, salaried position with a salary range of $65,000 - $75,000. Starting pay is determined based on job-related factors, including geographic location, market conditions, relevant experience, training, and education. Handle media outreach and coordinate virtual and in-person pitch meetings to secure high-impact media placements. Represent the brand on social media and grow our audience. Own the growth and development of the email marketing strategy. Collaborate with the digital marketing team on discovery tactics and consumer-facing advertising. Facilitate impactful events and trade show presence. Create visual marketing assets for a wide range of social platforms. Write compelling press releases and media pitches to generate traditional and digital media opportunities for key authors. Manage the execution of galley mailings, including media, influencers, and trade submissions. Consistently monitor title POS and impact of active marketing campaigns and strategies. Requirements BA in Communication, Marketing, English, Journalism, or related field. 3-5 years of experience in Publishing or Marketing. Excellent promotional writing and communication skills. Basic HTML and graphic design skills; proficiency with consumer design apps and programs. Ability to work independently while contributing to department goals. Open to travel for events as needed. General experience working in PowerPoint, Excel, and Office programs. Working knowledge of social media platforms as leveraged for author promotion.
