Durham Literacy Center is hiring: Volunteers Needed! English, Writing, Social St

Durham Literacy Center's Youth Achievement Program is now looking for volunteers. We are looking for community members to help young adults, aged 16-24, prepare for their High School Equivalency English subject tests.

Registration is now open for

• Summer 2025 - July 14 - August 28
• Fall 2025 - September 02 - December 11
• Spring 2026 - January 05 - June 18

We need volunteers with the ability to support

• Teaching Elementary English
• Teaching Middle School English
• Writing
• Social Studies
• Science

Training is required and ongoing. All lessons and planning are completed by staff. Access to supplemental materials to assist is also available.

4 shifts available:

• 9am to 9:30am is preparation time. 9:30 am to 11 am is session time.: Monday July 14, 2025 - 09:00 to 11:00 EST
• Monday July 14, 2025 - 11:00 to 13:00 EST
• Monday July 14, 2025 - 13:00 to 15:00 EST
• Monday July 14, 2025 - 15:00 to 17:00 EST
