Part-Time Library Page
City of The Dalles

$15.05 to 18.51 per hour.

What does a Library Page do in a typical work day?
Library Page daily assignments will vary, but duties include:
Staffing the Front Desk and greeting patrons
Organizing and shelving library items to their proper location
Checking materials in and out
Collecting library fines
Issuing library cards
Contacting patrons about resource availability and reserved materials
Mending and cleaning damaged library materials.
Assist patrons with reference, reader's advisory, technology and information needs.
Update records and labels on library materials.
The regular work schedule will vary, but this position is expected to regularly and consistently work late afternoons, evenings, and weekends. The maximum number of hours scheduled in a work week for this position is 20 hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience understanding and following written and oral instructions, policies, procedures, and regulations.
Ability to provide excellent customer service to community members, including ability to communicate and problem solve effectively to meet a wide range of needs
Ability to learn and apply Dewey Decimal System.
Ability to file alphabetically and numerically with speed and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:
Spanish language proficiency
Additional Required Certifications and Requirements:
Valid Driver's License
Criminal Background Check
High School Graduate or Equivalent
