Mechanical Designer
Mountain Lakes, NJ
Responsibilities:
- Engineer and design production ready Wastewater Treatment Plant layouts incorporating our equipment into it.
- Create layouts, detailed drawings, & bill of materials using AutoCAD and some Solidworks.
- Able to specify materials, hardware, and fabricating methods a plus
- Working with sheet metal, plastics, structural steel, and other metals.
- Perform QC inspections as required.
- Maintain & update all drawings and BOMs as required.
- Works closely with the team to make sure the project meets the client, cost & design requirements.
- Investigate new technologies and techniques which could enhance the competitiveness of our products.
- Work with multi-disciplined teams under demanding deadlines.
- Ability to generate OEM’s (Original Equipment Manufacturer) under company guidelines.
- Participates in engineering review meetings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design specifications are met
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to select appropriate materials and components
- Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations for improvements
Ideal Candidate:
- 2-5 years of mechanical design or related engineering experience.
- Associate degree in Industrial Design or Mechanical Engineering would be a plus
- Working knowledge and experience with machine shops and metal forming for manufacturability.
- Understands mechanical engineering and drafting standards and procedures.
- Passionate about work and success, energetic and engaging, assumes ownership of work.
- Organized, punctual & easy to work with in a high-performance culture.
- Proven experience in mechanical system design and drafting
- Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AUTOCAD
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Skills:
- Proficient using AutoCAD and some SolidWorks.
- Working knowledge of weldments, sheet metal, and detailed drawings.
- Working knowledge of Adobe
- Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Team player
