Radio Training Network Major Gifts Officer

Description: All duties of the Major Gifts Officer require a deep understanding of and faithful commitment to the Christian faith, particularly where he/she is interacting with the listeners and or contributors of any RTN Radio station. The Major Gifts Officer will design, develop, and implement a major gift program and be responsible for managing and cultivating relationships with existing major donors and major gift prospects, as well as identifying new prospects. Ability to empathize with donors and clearly articular RTNs mission is paramount. Reports to Director of Support.

Responsibilities
  • Help our donors accomplish their philanthropic goals and ambitions through a relationship with our organization.
  • Secure major gifts at the $5K to $1M level. With the filling of this position, the goal of raising a minimum of $200,000 is expected within the first year, with additional incremental increases annually thereafter.
  • Manage systems to track and cultivate donors and prospects, including our donor database and other fundraising tools.
  • Lead the solicitation process for major gifts, working closely with senior leadership and local area donor relations liaisons.
  • Work with the organization to strategically consider, establish, and help fund an endowment for long-term sustainability.
  • Prospect, build, and maintain an active portfolio between 100-125 donors while creating and implementing a moves management plan for each.
  • Organize and attend events, meetings, and special activities designed to deepen donor involvement.
  • Work with the Director of Support to align efforts and set goals.
  • Make direct, face-to-face solicitations, and assist all Station Managers with their solicitation (e.g., provide portfolio development support, strategic counsel, and help with donor communications).
  • Track and report progress using specific metrics to properly acknowledge donors through public and private recognition.
Qualifications
  • True people person with an outgoing nature. Self-starter and driven by results.
  • A minimum of 8 10 years of proven nonprofit fundraising experience and to have shown the ability to secure individual and major gifts and meet objectives.
  • Make donors feel valued by being sensitive to their needs.
  • Comfortable using a CRM (Salesforce), prospect research, and other fundraising tools.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the organization and with outside constituencies.
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills required and used to compel individuals to action.
  • Organized, prepared, detail-oriented, and able to follow through on promises.
  • Inspire others, bring people in line with a vision, and motivate them to reach goals.
