Overview

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center seeks an Ocular Oncology Ophthalmologist to join the Retina Division within the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Academic rank and track are commensurate with academic record and experience. This is a full-time clinical or clinician-scientist position focused on patient care, research, and education in Ocular Oncology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care in Ocular Oncology, with or without a trainee present.
  • Engage in academic activities including teaching (clinical or didactic) for medical students, residents, fellows, graduate and post-doctoral learners.
  • Pursue opportunities in research, quality improvement, curriculum development, and education initiatives aligned with the faculty assignment.
  • Contribute to divisional, departmental, and college committee work and participate in local, regional, or national professional organizations as appropriate.
  • Fulfill service commitments at OSUWMC facilities and other assigned clinical sites.

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship is required for participation in this role due to contractual agreements with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Board-eligible or board-certified in Ophthalmology by the time of appointment; eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio.
  • MD or DO degree with completed residency in Ophthalmology and subspecialty fellowship in Retina.
  • Academic rank and salary commensurate with experience and credentials.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in medical and surgical management of Ocular Oncology.
  • Evidence of scholarship with basic and/or clinical research and publications.
  • Commitment to teaching and to residents, fellows, and medical students.
