We’re looking for a Product Design Lead who brings clarity to complex problems and raises the craft across everything we ship.

- Own and elevate the end-to-end experience of Merge’s core product.

This is a role for a designer who wants to influence a fast-growing product and scale design practice at a high-standard company.
What You Will Do
- Lead design for Merge’s core platform, from concept through launch.
- Be very opinionated, sweat the details, strive for simplicity, and push the broader team to uphold a high design standard.
- Partner with founders, product, and engineering to translate strategy into user-centered solutions.
- Create and maintain a design system that balances speed with consistency.
- Conduct user research and prototype high-fidelity experiences to uncover friction and validate ideas.
- Raise usability, visual quality, and design process standards across the org.
- Mentor designers and influence how design integrates into Merge’s product culture.
What We Are Looking For
- Strong portfolio showing systems thinking, visual craft, and the ability to translate ambiguity into user-centric solutions.
- 5-7+ years of experience as a product designer, with involvement leading company-wide design initiatives.
- Ability to articulate design decisions and communicate complex concepts clearly through storytelling.
- Strong collaboration with designers, product managers, and engineers; mentoring experience preferred.
- Expertise in Figma, UX research methods, writing product specs, creating prototypes, and leading design reviews.
- Ability to explore multiple design solutions before focusing on the most promising approach.
- Advocate for product quality and results oriented to the user.
Compensation
- The cash compensation range for this role is $165,000 - $190,000.
- Compensation is based on a wide array of factors including skill set, years of experience, and certifications. Equity is also included.
