About daydream

daydream builds growth marketing playbooks for the world’s fastest growing companies.

Note: This role requires candidates to be in-person, in-office 3 days per week in our Hayes Valley, San Francisco office.

We believe the future of growth marketing is one where companies pay for outcomes, rather than tools. Today, we leverage a combination of AI-enabled services + software to execute SEO growth playbooks for companies like Clay , OpenArt , Beacons and dozens of others. In the future, we\'ll expand our capabilities across the entire growth marketing stack, encompassing all essential customer acquisition channels.

We’ve raised $6.2M from First Round Capital , Basis Set Ventures , WndrCo , SOMA Capital , and growth leaders from Notion , Airtable , Webflow , Dropbox , and more. Angels include Lenny Rachitsky and Eli Schwartz (Author of Product-Led SEO ).

The Problem We’re Solving

Modern content marketing fails when it doesn\'t scale. Teams often run into four major pitfalls:

  • Accuracy – Content must be grounded in real-world data.

  • Intent – It must satisfy what users are actually searching for.

  • Value – It has to be better than what\'s already out there.

  • Scalability – Great strategy is meaningless if it can’t scale across thousands of pages.

Most tools focus on surface-level solutions. We’re building systems that deeply understand user intent, extract high-signal data, and scale production with precision and speed.

How daydream is Different

At daydream, we don’t just create content — we create systems to generate and optimize content at scale.

That’s where you come in.

As a Data Engineer , you\'ll be the backbone of our data-driven approach. You’ll design the pipelines that power every stage of our growth playbooks — from scraping large volumes of web data to analyzing what actually drives traffic and conversion.

The People You’ll Work With

  • Nico (Head of Growth): Founded Failory , a startup newsletter grown to 40K+ subscribers entirely through SEO. Has worked with dozens of top startups on growth.

  • Shravan (CTO): Previously an Engineering Lead at Flixed and Software Engineer at Facebook , where he led scraping and data infrastructure for Facebook Jobs and Meta Reality Labs.

  • Growth Leads: daydream’s growth team works directly with customers to plan SEO strategies across thousands of pages. Your work will bring these strategies to life.

Our stack

  • Python

  • Web Automation (Selenium/Playwright)

  • Postgres

  • LLMs (GPT, Claude, Gemini)

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Data Collection
Design and scale web scraping pipelines to collect and structure content at large volumes across different verticals.

  • Performance Analytics
Build systems to track and analyze the effectiveness of thousands of SEO assets, turning raw data into insights and dashboards.

  • Internal Tooling & Automation
Build internal tools that allow our growth leads to ideate, launch, and test strategies at scale—backed by data, not gut feel.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with engineering, design, and growth to embed data workflows into our product stack.

  • Knowledge Sharing & Leadership
Stay on top of the latest in data engineering, SEO, and AI—share learnings internally and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.
