Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor an internal team of j designers; conduct regular design reviews and corrections.
- Manage daily task creation, prioritization, and assignment for internal and external design teams
- Coordinate and communicate effectively and improve designing maturity of external corporate service design team.
- Provide clear, actionable feedback to internal and external teams.
- Ensure all WSHP designs meet technical specifications, industry standards, and project milestones.
- Proactively identify design risks and implement corrective actions and create /improve the design guidelines for our products
- Develop and maintain design schedules and progress tracking tools.
- Support cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Technical Service Department’s teams.
- Maintain high standards for CAD modeling, drawings, BOMs, and related technical documentation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- 7+ years of design engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong background in HVAC product development; experience with Water Source Heat Pumps is highly preferred.
- Expertise in CAD software (e.g., Unigraphics, Team Center and SAP systems.)
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop junior engineering/design talent.
- Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, drive deliverables, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g. ISO standards for drawings, UL, ASHRAE, AHRI, CE, ISO) is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Experience coordinating with external or outsourced design teams.
- Understanding of UL standards, AHRI performance standards, and HVAC regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with sheet metal, copper tube bending and plastic part design for manufacturability
