PlantWell ( is about bringing nature into homes with our premium selection of home decor and house plants. We transform spaces with the right plant and are growing our e-commerce business while seeking a dynamic Marketing Director to drive our digital marketing strategy and elevate the brand.
The Role
As our Marketing Director, you’ll lead all digital marketing efforts for PlantWell. You’ll create and execute online ad campaigns that maximize sales, drive engagement, and build our community. You should be an expert in crafting high-converting ad content, with a keen eye for design, copy, and performance metrics. You will work closely with our small but growing team to execute social media campaigns and grow our online presence.
Responsibilities
- Ad Campaigns & Strategy: Create, implement, and optimize paid media campaigns on platforms like Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google Ads, Pinterest, etc., with a focus on increasing sales, ROAS (Return on Ad Spend), and engagement.
- Content Creation & Strategy: Develop creative assets for digital campaigns, including product photography, ad visuals, videos, and copy. If you can take the photos yourself - great, if not, leverage relationships with photographers/agencies you know.
- Social Media Management: Manage and grow our social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.) by posting regularly and engaging with followers. You will also create content (such as lifestyle photos, plant care tips, etc.) and measure performance.
- Data & Analytics: Analyze campaign performance, track key KPIs, and provide insights to continuously improve ad performance. Be data-driven in making decisions on what works and what needs adjusting.
- Collaboration: Work with our small, agile team to align marketing efforts with overall brand vision and product launches. You will be working directly with the founders and product team.
- Agency & Vendor Management: While you’ll handle the majority of in-house work, you may also collaborate with external agencies for content creation, paid ad management, and other specialized services.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in digital marketing, preferably within e-commerce, retail, or lifestyle sectors.
- Proven experience with Meta Ads, Google Ads, and other digital advertising platforms, with a solid understanding of how to create ad content that drives conversions.
- Strong skills in social media strategy, content creation, and community management.
- Comfortable working with analytics tools like Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, and others.
- Experience managing or collaborating with external vendors/agencies to maximize marketing efforts.
- Creativity and eye for design – you’ll be creating content, so a strong visual aesthetic is a must.
- A growth mindset and the ability to pivot quickly and adapt to new trends in the market.
- Excellent communication skills and a self-starter attitude; the ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
Preferred
- Familiarity with home decor, plants, or lifestyle brands is a bonus.
- Basic graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite or similar).
- Photography skills for social media and ad creation.

Compensation
- Since we’re a growing startup, we’re offering a competitive salary that is aligned with your experience and performance, plus equity in the company. The pay range would likely fall between $65k - $85k annually, with the potential for performance-based bonuses and growth into a CMO-type role as the company expands.
