Overview
We're seeking a highly motivated and skilled RF Design Engineer to join our growing team in San Jose. In this role, you'll be instrumental in designing and developing our innovative RF/Microwave product lines. You'll contribute to the design of critical components, from amplifiers and mixers to filters and oscillators, utilizing your expertise in simulation, modeling, and testing. Additionally, you will support the redesign of obsolete electrical components and assist the production team with hardware deliveries. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies that are integral to aerospace and defense applications. Responsibilities
Design and Simulation: Utilize your skills in simulation and modeling to design RF/Microwave circuits, including amplifiers, mixers, switches, filters, and oscillators, adhering to CAES BY HONEYWELL design standards. Performance Analysis: Conduct thorough performance analysis of circuits, including multistage cascade analysis, to ensure optimal functionality and reliability. Test and Validation: Develop test procedures, perform testing, and troubleshoot and optimize prototype circuits and components to meet stringent specification requirements and manufacturing guidelines. Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical engineers, designers, and drafters to create comprehensive mechanical design packages. Continuous Improvement: Participate in Lean/Six Sigma initiatives to enhance processes, promote safety, and maintain a clean, organized work area. Technical Mentorship: Collaborate with technicians on the testing, tuning, and optimization of prototype circuits. Support production line with testing and troubleshooting in order to meet delivery commitments. Support the factory in addressing Diminished Material Sources (DMS) activities by redesigning obsolete electrical components. Support the production engineering team with the delivery of hardware and other manufacturing activities. Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics, coupled with 2+ years of experience working with microwave and millimeter-wave subsystems and components. Familiarity with RF and Microwave test equipment (e.g., PNA, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, etc.) Foundational knowledge of linear simulation tools (e.g., ADS, Microwave Office, cascade analysis spreadsheets) or similar software. This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a “US Person” under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license). Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Preferred:
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics, coupled with 2+ years of experience designing and developing advanced microwave and millimeter wave subsystems and components. Internship and co-op experience are a plus. 1+ years of experience using drawing CAD tools (e.g., Draftsight, AutoCAD). Experience in Spice Modeling. DSP and Radar experience. Salary and Benefits
Salary Range: $108,000 - $130,000 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
