Customs Entry Specialist
Responsibilities:
- Calculate and process duties, tariffs, and taxes owed on shipments.
- Classify goods using the appropriate tariff coding system.
- Submit ISF (Import Security Filing) for ocean shipments.
- Conduct bond reviews and ensure proper documentation is filed.
- Navigate and manage entries using CargoWise software.
- Communicate effectively with customs officials, clients, and transportation companies.
- Monitor and trace shipments, resolving any issues that arise during the customs process.
- Stay current on changes in import/export laws and regulations.
- Provide guidance to clients on customs restrictions, insurance requirements, and tariff systems.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years in Customs Entry (Air & Ocean)
- Minimum 3+ years using CargoWise
- Strong understanding of Customs Entry processes
- ISF Filing (Import Security Filing) for ocean imports
- Bond reviews
- Proficiency in CargoWise navigation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable using Outlook for professional correspondence
- Familiarity with border crossings is a plus
- Experience with both Air and Ocean entry writing is required
Work Environment:
The work schedule is MondayFriday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM. This is a full-time in-office position during the contract period. Upon permanent hire and after 90 days, a hybrid option is available with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote, based on performance and attendance. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
