The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), an internationally renowned college of art and design, business and technology, of the State University of New York, invites applications and nominations for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the Marketing Communications Department of the Jay and Patty Baker School of Business and Technology.
The Fashion Institute of Technology, a part of the State University of New York, has been a leader in career education in art, design, business, and technology for over 70 years. With a curriculum that provides hands-on, practical experience, classroom study, and a firm grounding in the liberal arts, FIT offers programs across 45 majors and degrees including AAS, BFA, BS, MA, MFA, and MPS. FIT draws on its New York City location to provide a vibrant, creative community for learning and industry engagement.
The Jay and Patty Baker School of Business and Technology educates students for management and leadership roles within the fashion and related creative industries. The school collaborates with the School of Art and Design and the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences to design curricular experiences that develop critical thinking, professional responsibility, communication, and teamworkskills increasingly demanded by employers. The vision is to be an academically recognized school of excellence where industry and government see creative alliances for future thinking and problem solving.
Seven of the ten Baker School programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
The Marketing Communications department offers an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Advertising and Marketing Communications, and a BS in Direct and Interactive Marketing.
Job Description :
The Baker School seeks a dedicated full-time faculty member with expertise in digital marketing and a forward-thinking approach to education within a dynamic and creative academic environment. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of academic and professional experience in digital marketing strategy, analytics, content marketing, SEO/SEM, and emerging media, with proficiency in tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar platforms. The successful candidate will stay ahead of industry trends and prepare students to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital marketing landscape.
Responsibilities include teaching a variety of digital marketing courses (e-commerce, social media marketing, content marketing, digital analytics, introduction to marketing) and contributing to new course development and departmental initiatives. In addition, the faculty member will support the school and department's strategic initiatives, develop and enhance the curriculum, advise and mentor students, promote the academic program, and cultivate partnerships with alumni, industry leaders, and other educational institutions. Participation on department, school, and college-wide committees, accreditation activities, and selective administrative duties is expected.

Requirements :
Minimum Qualifications :
- MBA or Masters degree in Digital Marketing, Marketing, Communications, or a closely related field.
- Ten years of professional leadership experience in digital marketing, with demonstrated success in strategy, branding, analytics, media buying, or content marketing.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., D.B.A., Ed.D.) in a related field.
- Teaching experience at the college or university level in marketing.
- Industry certifications such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, HubSpot, Hootsuite, or Meta Blueprint.
- Knowledge of AI and automation in marketing (e.g., ChatGPT, CRM workflows, predictive analytics).

Salary
The final starting salary and appointment rank will be based on education level and cumulative experience; Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) Salary Schedules pgs. 73-74.
Instructor: $69,346.37 - $80,793.82
Assistant Professor: $80,736.40 - $118,984.88
Associate Professor: $94,498.31 - $142,271.78
Professor: $115,232.32 - $173,403.37
