Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Data Visualization Specialist to join our team and play a pivotal role in delivering insightful and visually compelling data presentations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience using a variety of data visualization tools and techniques, as well as familiarity with third-party component libraries to enhance data presentation. This role offers an opportunity to work in an Agile or Scrum development environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to create high-quality, user-friendly visualizations that help stakeholders make data-driven decisions.
As a Data Visualization Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and developing interactive and static visualizations that convey complex data in a clear and actionable manner. You will leverage industry-standard visualization tools to present data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement data visualizations to transform complex data into clear, intuitive, and actionable insights.
- Use industry-standard visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, D3.js, etc.) to create interactive dashboards and reports.
- Leverage third-party component libraries to enhance the functionality and visual appeal of data visualizations.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs and tailor visualizations to meet those needs.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other team members to ensure data accuracy and relevance in visualizations.
- Participate in Agile or Scrum development processes, contributing to sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews.
- Ensure that visualizations are user-friendly, accessible, and meet design and usability standards.
- Optimize and streamline visualizations for performance, scalability, and ease of use.
- Provide training and support to stakeholders in the use of data visualizations and dashboards.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, best practices, and tools in data visualization and user experience design.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Associate or Bachelor of Science in Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
- Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience using multiple data visualization applications and leveraging common industry visualization tools.
- At least 2 years of experience working in an Agile or Scrum development environment.
- Clearance: Active Secret clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, D3.js, or similar.
- Experience with third-party component libraries and customization for advanced visualizations.
- Knowledge of data modeling and database management techniques.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices for creating intuitive and engaging visualizations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to diverse audiences.
