Women of Color on the Move (WOCOTM) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women, girls, and families in underserved communities through education, advocacy, and support programs. We are seeking a skilled and passionate Web Developer with strong knowledge of WordPress and Bluehost hosting to support our online presence and digital initiatives.
Position Overview
The Web Developer will manage, update, and optimize the WOCOTM website using WordPress hosted on Bluehost. This role involves creating user-friendly, responsive pages, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring that the website effectively communicates our mission to supporters, donors, and the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, design, and maintain WOCOTMs website on WordPress.
- Configure and manage website hosting, domains, and settings via Bluehost.
- Customize WordPress themes, plugins, and templates to align with organizational needs.
- Ensure the website is mobile-friendly, accessible, and SEO-optimized.
- Regularly update content, including events, blogs, and program pages.
- Implement website security best practices, backups, and updates.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide ongoing support.
- Collaborate with the communications and marketing team to ensure branding consistency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in WordPress development and design.
- Familiarity with Bluehost hosting, cPanel, and domain management.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and basic PHP (preferred).
- Experience with SEO tools, Google Analytics, and website optimization.
- Knowledge of plugins such as Elementor, WooCommerce, or other relevant tools.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Ability to use Microsoft 365 and contact management.
Preferred Skills
- Graphic design experience (Canva, Photoshop, or Illustrator).
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (ADA compliance).
- Experience integrating donation platforms or nonprofit plugins.
