U.S. Navy is hiring: Mass Communication Specialist NY in Town of Babylon
U.S. Navy, Town of Babylon, NY, United States
As a Navy Mass Communication Specialist (MC), you’re more than a storyteller—you’re a creator, a journalist, a photographer, a videographer, and a strategist. You’ll use your talent and originality to share the achievements of America’s Sailors with the world. From documenting military operations to producing high-profile media campaigns, you’ll shape how people see the Navy—both at home and abroad.
This isn’t a desk job. One day you could be filming flight operations on an aircraft carrier, the next you could be leading a press tour on base, or editing digital content from a forward-deployed command. The Navy gives you a global platform—and the opportunity to build a creative career that truly makes an impact.
What You’ll Do
- Create & Produce Content: Craft videos, photos, digital graphics, feature stories, press releases, blogs, and more.
- Operate High-Tech Gear: Use cutting-edge photography, videography, and editing equipment.
- Shape Strategy: Research, identify audiences, analyze data, and advise leadership on communication solutions.
- Build Relationships: Collaborate with local and global media outlets, and assist Public Affairs Officers.
- Go Behind the Scenes: Conduct tours for high-profile guests and dignitaries.
- Lead as You Advance: Senior MCs advise commanders, brief the press, and develop content strategies that influence Navy-wide communication.
What You’ll Get
- Competitive Pay plus potential enlistment bonus
- Full Benefits Package: free health insurance, housing, and retirement plan
- Paid Training to turn your creativity into professional expertise
- Education Support: Tuition Assistance, Post-9/11 GI Bill (up to 100% tuition), and opportunities to earn professional certifications and college credits
- Adventure & Travel: See the world while growing your career
Who We’re Looking For
- U.S. citizen or equivalent
- High school diploma or GED
- 17 years or older
- Creative, independent thinkers with a passion for media, storytelling, and making an impact
Your Work Environment
From combat units in the field to broadcast studios stateside, from ship decks to overseas media hubs—no two days are the same. This is a career for creators who want variety, challenge, and the chance to inspire others. While some tasks require hands-on work, the role is primarily mentally and creatively focused. You’ll thrive whether working solo or collaborating with a small team.
Tell stories that matter. Capture moments that inspire. Become the voice and vision of the U.S. Navy as a Mass Communication Specialist.
