Duties/Responsibilities

  • Operate radio station according to (FCC) legal standards.
  • Perform as a friendly, welcoming and professional voice for WUGA.
  • Ensure that radio broadcast follows stated programming schedule (air the correct programs at the correct times).
  • Operate and/or monitor various equipment and report failures to appropriate staff.
  • Answer the telephone and be prepared to accept visitors to the station. Also serve as a representative of the station and/or the university in an appropriate manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

This is a part-time substitute Announcer/Producer position for WUGA, the public radio station serving Athens and Northeast Georgia.

Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification

Preference given to candidates with pre-existing knowledge and skills in operating computers and other electronic equipment, or strong aptitude in learning and operating highly technical equipment.
