Overview
Senior Communication and Engagement Officer role at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust. The closing date is 09 October 2025.
Join a multi-disciplinary redevelopment team delivering communications for Lynfield Mount Hospital's three-year redevelopment programme. You will work to raise awareness of the Trust's redevelopment plans and engage stakeholders through a range of online and offline channels.
The role reports to the Head of Communication and Marketing and works closely with the Project Director. It requires creativity, strong communications planning, and the ability to influence and advise on the most effective engagement approaches. Flexible working is supported, with travel to Lynfield Mount Hospital as required.
Main duties of the job
Deliver high quality and effective communications for Lynfield Mount Hospital's redevelopment, creating, project managing and delivering communication activity/campaigns.
Continue to develop and agree the headline communications and engagement strategy and tactical plan.
Engage key stakeholders and raise awareness of the staged three-year redevelopment plans.
Provide communications advice to the project team on the most effective tactics in line with the Trust's style and branding guides; influence and persuade where needed.
Maintain ongoing involvement of the Trust's Patient and Carer Experience and Involvement team to ensure proactive engagement of service users, carers and families alongside wider engagement activity.
Develop and deliver creative approaches to maximise awareness and engagement across internal and external channels including traditional media, print, digital (website/intranet, Facebook, X, Vimeo), promotional material, events, stakeholder engagement and e-bulletins.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- A Levels or equivalent; Degree or equivalent knowledge (through experience) in communication and involvement activity.
- 4 A-Levels A-C; BA (Hons) or equivalent.
Training
- Undertaken necessary training as required by this role to maintain and enhance service delivery.
- Qualification in or experience of broad-based communications activity.
- Knowledge of the NHS and/or public sector/voluntary communications and engagement.
- Experience of working with media (trade, print and broadcast) and understanding different media needs.
- Knowledge of a broad range of communication tactics (events, stakeholder engagement, print, digital, film).
Experience
- Experience in a communications and involvement role, leading the development/delivery of plans with measurable results; track impact against objectives.
- Experience working with teams to deliver activity.
- Experience delivering traditional and digital communications, design/print, events, stakeholder engagement, etc.
- Experience handling crisis/issues and working with agencies at a senior level; proactive approach.
- Ability to tailor content for web, print, e-bulletins and other channels.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritise multiple projects and manage others.
- Strategic thinking with tactical delivery; manage suppliers and engagement.
- Experience budgeting and delivering activities within costs.
