The Role
Associate Photographers are responsible for the media collection for Homes.com and Apartments.com. Equipped with a Pro 3 Matterport, digital camera equipment and iPad, they create virtual tours, floorplans and photography for residential homes. Each Associate Photographer covers a core territory and services clients of Homes.com and Apartments.com.
Photographers schedule appointments on defined dates and times to scan homes and apartments with Matterport Pro3 cameras, capturing virtual tours and floor plans. They also photograph residential properties for marketing purposes. This role works closely with clients, sales teams, logistics and the management team and is managed remotely by a Photography Manager in local markets.
Responsibilities
- Support marketing efforts on Homes.com and Apartments.com by capturing 3-D virtual tours and floor plans.
- Create a portfolio of photographs to best feature homes and apartments, using photography techniques to showcase spaces.
- Coordinate with scheduling and dispatch teams to maximize appointments and meet client demands.
- Communicate professionally with clients, sales, researcher partners, and management to evaluate priorities and tasks.
- When not photographing a residential home, navigate one-mile square grids to identify new inventory, missing availability, and commercial properties to photograph.
- Follow CoStar safety standards to safeguard vehicles and equipment.
- Represent CoStar professionally at all times.
- Participate in conference calls with sales and research teams as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Repetitive and frequent sitting in a car, standing and walking for up to 8 hours per day.
- Must lift, carry, and maneuver equipment weighing up to 5 pounds.
- Repetitive hand and arm movements to operate camera equipment and a tablet/laptop.
- Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, lifting, twisting, and carrying as necessary.
- Ability to work and drive outside during all seasons.
- Ability to work weekends on a rotating schedule.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of professional experience.
- Real estate photography experience required.
- Experience as a professional photographer or a recently earned degree in photography.
- Drone photography experience with a FAA Part 107 license/certification obtained within 30 days of offer.
- Strong time-management and detail-oriented skills.
- Ability to accurately capture and enter data.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Windows, macOS, Microsoft Office, and Internet applications.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Field experience preferred.
- Current and valid driver’s license.
- Driving record check prior to start; driving history must reflect responsible driving behavior.
Compensation
The Associate Photographer position is hourly plus bonus-eligible. Bonuses are paid monthly and based on performance against predefined metrics. The role is hourly with potential to earn approximately $50,000 annually plus monthly bonuses.
